Processing

Our core expertise lies in the development, production and international marketing of technical foams. We use a range of technologies and manufacturing processes to transform and combine raw materials according to specific product requirements.

Additional processing steps can be used to adapt product properties and configurations to different requirements. For this purpose, various processing and finishing technologies are available during and after the production process.

We work closely with our customers to tailor solutions to their technical and application-specific requirements.

Extrusion

Extrusion enables the production of technically advanced foam profiles, sheets and rolls, either cross-linked or non-cross-linked, according to standard or customer-specific specifications. Different process and production steps can be coordinated to achieve the desired product characteristics. Depending on the application and product design, various densities, colours, custom profile geometries and films are available.

With co-extrusion, two or more compatible materials are combined within a single production process. Foam profiles can, for example, be provided with an additional layer of non-foamed material or a functional coating. Depending on the materials and design, specific properties such as mechanical resistance or UV resistance can be enhanced.

Laminating

Lamination enables different materials to be combined into multilayer composite solutions.

Depending on the material combination and application, properties such as strength, sound insulation and surface characteristics can be tailored to specific requirements.

Examples include foam-to-foam combinations, the lamination of semi-finished products and the integration of films or other functional layers.

Thermoforming

Thermoforming is a manufacturing process in which foams are heated, formed into the desired shape and subsequently trimmed into the finished product.

The process offers extensive design flexibility and enables the production of application-specific shapes and three-dimensional products.

Conversion

BONDING

Depending on the material and application, different adhesive systems can be used to bond materials together, for example by means of hot-melt adhesives or adhesive tapes. Depending on the design requirements, both permanent and removable bonds can be achieved, and adhesive systems can be selected for defined temperature ranges.

CUTTING AND MECHANICAL PROCESSING

Extruded profiles, films and sheets can be further processed using mechanical techniques such as cutting, milling or embossing. Depending on customer requirements, special cuts can be applied to adjust product flexibility and handling characteristics. Foam profiles can also be partially slit to facilitate processing and handling and, depending on the application, help reduce material offcuts.
